RECLAIMING OUR HERITAGE LODGE | Life Beyond the Surface For twelve years, this has been a private archive—a digital scrapbook documenting the slow, intentional reclamation of our home. What began as a series of renovations has evolved into a life’s work rooted in history, engineering, and the deep responsibility of stewardship. Sharing this journey is more than a milestone; it is an invitation into the heartbeat of our Heritage Lodge. This project is a chronicle of the 'emergency surgeries' performed on both the structure and its contents—from the massive, 199,000 BTU mechanical overhauls that keep the mountain cold at bay, to the restoration of the 1904 King Edward Hotel bricks that form our very foundation. I am drawn to the enduring legacy of things that have 'lived.' Whether it is the grain of raw hickory, the weight of salvaged history, or the precision of a 32-foot aggregate promenade, I believe a home should be as technically sound as it is aesthetically soulful. This is not a polished design portfolio or a standard how-to guide. This is a tribute to the past and an honoring of the work it takes to build a sanctuary that lasts. Every corner holds a memory. Every material has a provenance. I am glad you are here to witness the stewardship of this mountain legacy--to explore the art of the mountains, and perhaps, find your own perspective.
